Have you ever approached your vehicle to discover a sudden crack on your windshield that seemed to come out of nowhere? Our minds rush to thoughts of sharp rocks, vandalism etc. But did you know that temperature changes inside and outside the vehicle can cause windshield cracks? It is true!
Temperatures from heat, air-conditioning to defrosting on the inside of your vehicle to the sun, heat and cold temperatures from the outside of your vehicle can create cracks in your windshield. Extreme temperature changes can cause pressure on your windshield causing it to crack.
At best, slowly increase temperatures and try to keep your vehicle out of the sun or exposed to extreme temperatures, but even so, a windshield crack can still happen.
Luckily, most cracks can be easily fixed by a service technician without having to replace your entire windshield.
